As we take a wee summer hiatus on Back to the Double R, it’s the perfect time to invite new listeners to join us as we watch and discuss every episode of Twin Peaks. Our approach on the podcast is to talk about each episode in order, without revealing plot details from future episodes. Although I watched seasons 1 and 2 and the film Fire Walk with Me when they all originally came out, before this podcast project, I was fuzzy on many of the details. I’ve been enjoying witnessing all the different mysteries play out from week to week and have been working hard to avoid hearing spoilers. Two of my co-hosts, Damon and Jonathan, have watched and rewatched every season of Twin Peaks and I continue to be amazed at their restraint as they listen to me and my other co-host Colin speculating about minutiae that they already know the significance of.

It doesn’t matter if you’ve watched Twin Peaks before or have never seen an episode. Back to the Double R is hopefully a welcoming place for anyone diving into Twin Peaks fresh, after not watching for decades, or for obsessive rewatchers.

During our hiatus in July, we encourage new folks to start watching Twin Peaks and begin tuning in to Back to the Double R (season 1 here, season 2 here).

We are doing a slow and steady rewatch, which I’m finding pretty satisfying. At this point, we are up to Season 2, Episode 9 (“Arbitrary Law), although our latest pre-hiatus episode focused on the book, The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer.

Twin Peaks seasons 1 and 2 can be streamed through a number of services including Hulu and Paramount+. Sorry Netflix subscribers, Twin Peaks just left that service after a decade. I know that some of you cherish your VHS and DVD copies of Twin Peaks and that is a fine way to consume the series as well.
