Damon Welcome to Twin Peaks.JPG

Damon, Aries AF, Portland, OR

Growing up in a small Washington town similar to Twin Peaks, Damon spent countless hours as a child wandering in dark woods, among the fir trees. He first stumbled across David Lynch at age 13 via a television broadcast of The Elephant Man. He was immediately captivated by a style of storytelling that resonated with the vivid and sometimes terrifying dreams that have been a prominent feature of his mental landscape for as long as he can remember. This began a life-long obsession with the works of Lynch. Damon’s fondest memory of Twin Peaks is of watching it with housemates in Seattle over the course of a few days whilst snowed in during an unusually harsh winter. He re-watches the show every year. Now living in Portland, Oregon after a chunk of years in Pittsburbgh, Damon holds a PhD in Communication. He plays guitar in post-punk/peace punk band called Silence.

Jonathan.jpg

Jonathan, Chaotic Good, Seattle, WA

Jonathan first watched Twin Peaks in its original broadcast, sneaking down his family’s living room to watch the show as a 10-year old.  He grew up in Kingston, Washington, a small town on the Kitsap Peninsula that has perhaps too much in common with the fictional milieu created by David Lynch and Mark Frost. He and co-host Damon DiCicco attended North Kitsap High School in Poulsbo, WA, both graduating in 1998.

Jonathan studied creative writing at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. He has a life-long passion for film, television, comic books and pop culture. He has collected comics for nearly 30 years, owns close to 450 films in his personal library, and has seen every film that has won the Oscar for Best Picture. A friend from college once described Jonathan as having a mind like a “steel trap” for pop culture minutia, and he is glad that he is in a forum where his heretofore relatively useless skill is being properly appreciated.

Jonathan has lived in Western Washington since 1988 and has lived in Seattle since 2003, where he currently resides with his wife and two daughters.

Jennifer, Legendary, San Francisco, CA

A fan of creepy things since she first got her hands on a Stephen King book at age 12, Jennifer’s early forays into cultural critique started with a paper about Blue Velvet for her abnormal psych class in college. Obsessed with Twin Peaks from the beginning, she recalls sitting in her dark apartment gleefully watching the premiere episode when it launched. She’s still peeved that she lost the office pumpkin-carving contest in 1990 with her “Laura Palmer” entry. The wrapped in plastic jack-o-lantern, along with accompanying clues from the series was, sadly, too high concept. Having yet to watch season 3 of Twin Peaks, she relishes the opportunity to rewatch seasons 1 and 2 after all these years with super fans of the show before diving into the “new” episodes.

Jennifer is also a writer, podcaster (at Radio Survivor), and college radio DJ. She had the time of her life completing her MA degree in Popular Culture Studies and loves every opportunity to discuss teen TV in particular.
